Mr. Eichenberger is a practicing attorney in the area of aviation law, and represents manufacturers, maintenance facilities, flight schools, airlines, airports, and individual pilots and aircraft owners.

About the Author
is currently Director and Professor of Women Studies at University of California-Irvine. She received her Ph.D. in English from the University of California at Berkeley. A founder of Narika, an agency that addresses the needs of South Asian women in the U.S., she works with activist groups that focus on Asian women and immigration issues. She has authored a monograph and co-edited several books and journal issues, often with her long time collaborator Caren Kaplan. Her special interests include the history of British imperialism, non-western women travelers, consumer culture and globalization, South Asian women in diaspora, and the new transnational feminist activism

Caren Kaplan is currently Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Women's Studies at the University of California at Davis. After receiving her Ph.D. in the History of Consciousness Program at the University of California at Santa Cruz, she served on the faculty in the Department of English at Georgetown University from 1986 to 1992. The author of a monograph as well as the co-editor of several books, she has collaborated with Inderpal Grewal for many years on essays and edited collections. Her special interests are the history of Western and international feminism, feminist theory, and aspects of imperialism and globalization such as travel, tourism, and information technologies.

decent intro to women's studies

The only problem with this text is that the full length articles are not reprinted here. Other than that, it is a fairly good introduction to anyone researching women studies in the age of globalization.The organization of the book is appropriate, as are the introduction to the each of the sections.

What can i say Except this book was Amazing! I decided to take a Women's Studies Class at The University of Houston,and my professor had assigned this book. By the end of the semester we had finished the entire thing. All the topics exposed in it are eyeopening, and intriguing. I highly recommend this one especially if you're into any controversial topics and want to read up on some of them. Its a great read especially because its divided into specific topics. Although it is geared towards a "classroom read" Its just a great discussion book.

A real classic for realists

This the most comprehensive book on the famed reilly method. Frank.J.Reilly is the famous illustrator, whose course was based mostly on munsell's color theory. The reilly method itself looks very mechanical, the method doesnt leave anything in the grey, and uses terms like passion for art, feeling for color, movement etc. it tries to explain properly in a scene, under the lighting condition what exactly will be the chroma, value and color. IMO, probably that is all that can be taught as far as realistic painting is concerned. a serious student should learn these things before learning the philosophy behind the picture making. May be the teaching itself is very dogmatic and sets mechanical standards, but a serious learner should atleast have an inkling of these things before he can transgress these things in full awareness.
But for all the praise, be forewared about the books format: It almost looks like a project report rather than an art instruction book. it has only a few color plates that describe munsell charts. thats all.
In my opinion, this should rank with the classics like Richard schmid's Alla prima book.

A great book, but buyer beware and all that.

This book does assume a great deal of familiarity with the Reilly Technique, but was a fabulous find. My copy came with a long handwritten letter by the author, and included some copies of corrections to the text. The corrections included some mistakes on the math for the values of certain lighting schemes, but could be spotted or already corrected in your volume. Since he teaches you the process by which he derives the numbers, you have the means to check for yourself.

Apollo Dorian also taught mechanical drawing, and incorporates his teachings into supplemental chapters, but you can peruse that later. The real find of this is how exhaustive he is on detailing the shifts of lighting, transparency and even landscape painting, which was something Faragasso's book on painting did not include if I can remember correctly.

If I could recommend this book with another, for a less advanced student, it would be with Angelo John Grado's "Mastering the Craft of Painting"--since his book replicates a good deal of the studio experience that I went through at the Art Student's League. Also, a good deal of this information can be found online with the right searches.

About the Author
Edem G. Tetteh is Dean of Academic Affairs at Potomac State College of West Virginia University in Keyser, WV. Dr. Tetteh previously served at Paine College, Augusta, Georgia, as Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs. Prior to that position, he was an Assistant Professor at Virginia State University, Petersburg, VA, and taught undergraduate and graduate classes in Industrial and Logistics Technology. Dr. Tetteh's academic credentials include a BS in Manufacturing Systems at NC A&T State University, an MS in Industrial Engineering at North Carolina A&T State University, and a PhD in Industrial Technology at Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN. He also holds professional certifications as a Senior Technology Manager (CSTM), Lean Six Sigma Black Belt continuous improvement trainer, and Certified Waste Manager. Dr. Tetteh has authored a book titled Engineering Approach to Work Design: Issues for the Obese Workers and an edited book in 2012 titled Customer-Oriented Global Supply Chains: Concepts for Effective Management. He also has several publications in the area of Ergonomics and Human Factors and Logistic and Supply Chain.

Benedict M. Uzochukwu is an Assistant Professor of Information and Logistics Technology at Virginia State University. His research interests include Lean, Sustainment, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Lifecycle Systems, Systems Integration, and Management of Technology Systems. He has a PhD degree in Industrial Engineering from North Carolina A&T State University, Greensboro, and has several peer-reviewed journal and conference publications to his credit. He belongs to a number of professional organizations, such as the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE), Society for Engineering Management (SEM), Society for Health Systems (SHS), and Association of Technology Management and Applied Engineering (ATMAE). We Should not Forget...

A good book to keep on your shelf of memories, for those who lived, and live in Kenya since the 1960s. We should not forget educators like Frank Thompson, Dorothy Noad, Stephen Smith, and Kenneth Matiba before he was destroyed by politics. My family was privileged to be connected to Hillcrest over a period of twenty-five years, and this book containing anecdotes, reminiscences and historical facts has brought so much back to me.
